Privacy notice
Last updated: 4 November 2026
Rate My Load is a small free tool that turns a photo of your dirty dishes into a dishwasher loading plan. This page says what happens to your photo and your data. It is short because there is not much of it.
1. Who runs this
Rate My Load is run by Less Work, operated by Endre Adam, an independent consultant based in Budapest, Hungary. Endre Adam is the controller of the data described here. For any privacy question or request, email privacy@less-work.com. The contact page on less-work.com also works.
2. What we collect
- The photo you upload. Before it leaves your device it is resized. On our server it is converted to WebP and all metadata (including location) is removed.
- The analysis. The AI's list of items, the score, the verdict and the tips, plus a random nickname we generate for the leaderboard. You do not give us a name or an email.
- A hashed IP address. We use it to limit how many photos and reports one connection can submit per hour. It is stored as a salted SHA-256 hash, not as an IP address, and kept for up to 2 days. If you report a result, we keep an anonymous per-result marker (not your IP) until that result is deleted or its photo expires, so the same device can't report it twice.
- Anonymous usage analytics. We count page views and button clicks (for example, share and copy link) with PostHog Cloud EU. It runs without cookies and without storing anything on your device, and session recording is off.
We do not ask you to sign up, and we do not set advertising or tracking cookies. The analytics store nothing on your device. The one thing we do keep on your device is a delete token, in your browser's local storage under the name dp_tokens, so that the delete button appears on your own results. The token stays on your device and is sent nowhere except with a delete request. The page also checks it to tell our anonymous, cookieless analytics whether a result view is the uploader's own, as a yes or no flag. The token itself is not part of that.
3. Your photo is public to anyone with the link
Every result has its own link, and the photo is shown on that page. Anyone who has the link can see the photo. Results with a good score may also appear in the gallery on the home page. The weekly leaderboard shows a nickname and scores only, never photos. Do not upload anything you would not want a stranger to see, and keep people, faces, documents and addresses out of the frame.
4. Who processes the data
- Anthropic (Claude), United States: analyzes the photo and returns the item list and tips. The photo is sent to Anthropic for this purpose only. Transfers outside the EEA rely on Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Supabase (database hosting): stores the database rows (analysis, score, nickname, timestamps), the hashed IP addresses used for rate limiting and the anonymous report markers. No photos are stored there.
- Hostinger VPS, European Union: our server. It stores the photo files for 90 days and runs the site.
- PostHog Cloud EU, European Union: cookieless usage analytics as described above.
We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.
5. How long we keep it
- Photos: 90 days after upload, then the file is deleted. The score and analysis text may remain without a photo.
- Hashed IP addresses: up to 2 days (they are cleared by a daily cleanup once older than 1 day).
- Report markers: until the result is deleted or its photo expires after 90 days.
- Analytics events: per PostHog's retention settings for our project, in aggregate and without cookies.
6. How to delete your photo
If you uploaded from this browser, your result page shows a "Delete this result" button. It removes the photo and the result straight away. If you uploaded from another device or cleared your browser data, email privacy@less-work.com with the link to the result and we will delete it. You can also use the report button on any result if a photo should not be there.
7. Why we may process this (legal basis)
We process the photo and analysis to give you the result you asked for (performance of the service). We keep the hashed IP and run anonymous analytics for security, abuse prevention and to learn which features get used (legitimate interest). Because the analytics set nothing on your device, there is no cookie banner.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, object to processing, and ask for a copy. Email privacy@less-work.com and we will answer within 30 days. You may also complain to the Hungarian data protection authority (NAIH). Because we hold no account or email for you, we may need the result link to find your data.
9. Age
This service is for people aged 16 or older. See the upload terms.
10. Changes
If this changes, we update this page and the date at the top. The wider Less Work policy is at less-work.com/privacy.
